It’s safe to say that I am completely obsessed with Carly and Ryan. The minute we stepped out of the car at the spot on the hill (where they got engaged!!!) we were laughing. I mean, as I’m staring at these images, editing them, I realize I’m just smiling at the computer. Just staring at the screen, smiling. BECAUSE CARLY AND RYAN MAKE ME SMILE. They are literally SO great! Y’all, you guys – I’m talking to you Ryan and Carly – are so great. I am writing this paragraph, thinking about how great you are, smiling at my screen like a weirdo. Because Y’ALL MAKE ME SMILE.

I smiled when they told me they wanted to have their engagement session in the hill country where they got engaged.

I smiled when we got out of the car and they said they were going to be awkward. (Okay, this smile may have been more of a smirk, because that’s just an invitation for me to prove them super wrong. Guys, not to be rude but uhhh, yeah, y’all were super wrong. I mean I’m obsessed with every single photo from your session. Y’all are freaking adorable.)

I smiled when they said they wanted to bring their dog Lacey and I got to ride with her in the car and she fell asleep on my camera bag and I fell in love with her forever.

I smiled when we showed up at the second location and it was THE PRETTIEST THING I’VE EVER SEEN AND I HAD HAD NO CLUE WHERE WE WERE GOING AND IT ENDED UP BEING THE BEST LOCATION OF MY LIFE EVER.

I smiled when it realized it felt like I was hanging out with two old friends I’d known forever. 

I smiled when they wanted to catch up with me all about my life and our move and Kenton’s new job and they made me feel so loved and happy.

I smiled when we saw a bald eagle. (YES WE DID IT WAS AMAZE.)

I smiled basically any time they looked at each other because it is actually the cutest thing in the world. 

I smiled any time they danced because they are actually really good dancers.

I smiled 1000 times at Carly because she glows like a lightbulb. She is just a completely beautiful person, whose joy literally radiates from her.

I smiled when we talked about how much we all love the Texas Hill Country and dream of planting roots there one day.

I smiled when, at the very end of their session, it started raining just at the right time to get a really happy “walking to the car in the rain” shot. 

Aaaaaand I smiled all the way home because I’m so grateful for Ryan and Carly and I’m so grateful for my job and I’m so grateful for my life and that God called me to do this and that He allows me to do this every day!!! How is this even really work if I’m smiling the whole time? I mean of course there are hard days (there are with any job) but when you get to hang with the Ryan’s and the Carly’s of the world, the hard days pale in comparison to the days you smile, which are abundant and as bright as Carly’s ridiculously beautiful grin. 

Ryan and Carly, you make me smile. Can’t wait for your summer wedding, which, based on how much your engagement session made me smile, will probably make me lose my mind with joy!!!
