Bridal Sessions are always so fun to post on the blog because I always have to wait so long to share the images! For Jessica’s Bridal Session at McNay Art Museum, we met up about a month prior to their January wedding. Jessica and her family have some very special ties to the beautiful McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, and so it was the perfect choice for her session. (Not to mention, it is absolutely beautiful.)

Bridal Sessions are so special and valuable because the are the most beautiful end note on the engagement season for a bride. They are a lovely “get-to” during the engagement season and for me, they are able to beautifully encapsulate that “bridal” feeling for a bride. So much of engagement is planning and prepping for the wedding. But Bridal Sessions are truly a treat. Years and years from now, Jessica will be able to look back at these images and remember how she felt in this season – all the anticipation and excitement. And she’ll be able to share these memories with family and friends forever. Which is absolutely priceless!

As I’m sure you’ll be able to tell from the images, Jessica is the kindest, most lovely person. She takes so much interest in the people around her and she’s thoughtful with conversation and questions. During our session, we talked all about their special family connections to The McNay, and how much this tread of legacy means to her. And of course talked about how excited she was to (so soon!) get to marry her fiance Michael at their beautiful San Antonio wedding. (Which was amazing and so beautiful!) I just loved getting to work with Jessica and photograph her. Her sweet spirit really shines through the photos.

When planning Bridal Sessions, I always suggest a location with both indoor and outdoor options just in case of inclement weather. Nothing is fun about rescheduling a bunch of moving parts like photographer, hair + make up artists, venue, and florist! So I always help my brides find a venue option that fits their desires/personality. And McNay Art Museum for Jessica was the perfect fit!
