JOY JOY JOY !!! This whole day, this whole post, all of it is joy. Why? Because Katie and Andrew are like actual joy bombs. Like, they enter a room and happiness just goes everywhere. As I’ve gotten to know them I can confidently say that they’re like this every day of their lives, but their wedding day at Double Creek Crossing in Caldwell, Tx. was on a whole other level.
First, God answered all of our prayers and gave them the most gorgeous, sunny, temperate June Sunday I’ve ever seen. It was literally perfect weather for their sunny ceremony and open air reception. Add the perfect weather plus the pretty soft pastel palette Katie picked, the ombre mauve bridesmaid dresses, the (DIY!!!!) florals, and tasteful decor and you’ve got one of my favorite weddings to date! And while the weather and the decor were so oh lovely, it’s these PEOPLE that I just can’t get over. For one, they literally never stop smiling. And not just a “yay, I’m smiling” kind of smiling. It’s more like a “life is GOOD, I’ve got genuine JOY” kind of smiling. This made every single unplanned, in-between moment of this wedding day so gorgeous. There are so many moment photos from this day that I’m just so in love with. Also, I’m pretty sure that Andrew is able to become best friends with anyone he meets almost instantaneously, and Katie is able to make people feel super calm and peaceful yet happy and upbeat at the same time. How is that combo even possible?! I’m not sure, but she does it. Together, Katie and Andrew are so incredibly kind and considerate of others that it actually makes me feel nostalgic just writing about them. All day long I heard each of them affirming and encouraging the people around them in whatever they were doing. These two are 100% not about themselves and 100% all about putting others first. Loving on and considering other people before themselves is just how they function. They don’t have to try to be thoughtful, they just are. As a result, they have a crew of the most precious friends and family around them who were pumpedddd to get to celebrate them and send them into marriage with one heck of a happy day!
But in addition to loving others well, Katie and Andrew love each other. And they’re pretty stinking cute too, y’alllll. I’ll let the photos do the talking for them, but I just have to say that I really loved getting to be the one to document their first moments as husband and wife. It was sunny, it felt amazing outside, and Katie and Andrew were finally married: something they’ve prepared for, prayed over, and patiently waited on for months. They are precious. They are sweet. They are fun. And they are JOY BOMBS.
Katie and Andrew, I have probably ridden this whole “no chill” thing right into the ground, but that does not change the fact that I still have absolutely NO CHILL about y’all. Congrats to you both. The world is a much more beautiful place with y’all as a team.
