This hill country Austin engagement session has everything you want: golden hour glow, legacy oaks, & of course a good pair of cowboy boots.
Chandler and Ben’s hill country Austin engagement session was such a fun one for me. When these two reached out because they wanted to document their engagement at their family ranch near Wimberly, I was thrilled. There is nothing like shooting in the hill country. Being a born and raised Austinite (I learned recently I’m what’s called a unicorn – because most people who live here were born elsewhere) I feel so at home shooting and working in the hill country surrounding Austin.
I feel so at home here with the views, the oak trees, the fields of flowers and long grass… there’s just no other place like it. So to get an opportunity to document an engagement session in the hill country is always a joy for me. (Any chance I get to shoot in my Blundstones is also always fun! I have the pair that is a little taller than the normal below the ankle and I love them.)
For this session, Chandler and Ben wanted to enjoy an evening at the ranch. We walked, we drove the Mule, we played with the dogs, we talked with their families who were also there… it was a fun, relaxing evening where we laughed a lot and captured some really dreamy moments. When they both told me they’re not “the best” at taking photos together, I smiled. That is my favorite thing to hear before working with a couple. For one, this tells me they’re normal! It is very exposing and vulnerable to be photographed! But two, I also love guiding my couples through the process in such a way that by the end, they’re surprised we’re already finished and genuinely had a great time.
C+B, I had such fun working with you two! Cheers!
