Taylor and Pete are a power couple. They are both incredibly smart, witty, and confident individuals. So together, look out world! When getting to know Taylor I learned how much she loves animals. (Which if you know me – so do I. We have three – a bunny and two dogs, so things are always fun and crazy around our house.) So in getting to know these two, I knew we’d have a blast documenting their journey to marriage.

I love weddings at The Garey House because everything can be outdoors. The venue is a beautiful Tuscan inspired sprawling mansion and it is truly a beautiful setting for a romantic outdoor wedding with Italian vibes. But the benefit is that it is located right in the heart of Texas! There is just so much character at The Garey House. The fire place, the cream colored hallways, the massive legacy oak trees, the fields and beautiful pond… there is just so much potential for beauty there! I love a venue that can allow brides to seamlessly create an all outdoor wedding day, and The Garey House is perfect for that. Everything flows so easily and is so full of light, which obviously for me as a photographer, is a huge benefit!

Taylor and Pete’s Garey House Austin wedding was in the fall, so they went with a complimentary color scheme to fall colors. It all came together under the careful and detailed eye of their planner, Allison, of Mockingbird Lane Events. They day was crisp and cool and filled with so much joy and love. As mentioned above, Taylor loves animals as much as I do, so they made it a point to include their precious golden retriever, Rhea, in many elements for the wedding day. Not only were we sure to get lots of portraits with and of her, but she was also the dog of honor responsible for greeting all of the guests and welcoming them to the ceremony (which was a huge hit)!

Speaking of a hit – cocktail hour was so delightful during Taylor + Pete’s wedding day at Garey House. The weather was absolutely perfect, and guests enjoyed the beautiful scenery (and sunset!) with drinks and appetizers and good conversation. Another thoughtful detail on this day was how they made the seating chart. Each table was named after a location that Taylor and Pete had been to together during their relationship. So on each table was a framed drawing of every special location. I’d never seen this thoughtful idea before – it was a great way to help guests find their seat while also sharing more information about the couple!

What a joy it was to document this fully outdoors, dreamy day that began under the sun and ended under bulb-lights and sparklers! Congrats T+P!
