These two Aggies have my heart. Ashley and James are just the coolest people. We had gotten to spend so much time together (which is always my goal because I LOVE getting to know my couples) between their initial consult, our correspondence over the past several months, their engagements, and Ashley’s KYLE FIELD (!!) bridal session that I feel like Ashley and James are dear friends. As such, their wedding day was just joyful. They had so many special and thoughtful touches, too, from their gold wedding cake and Aggie inspired cookies to their custom ring box to Ashley’s (BLUSH!!) wedding dress to their unique Urban Rubbish blooms, this day just glimmers with their personality as a couple!
Meanwhile, over with the guys, James was opening the sweetest gift from Ashley. Brides – a little tip to save your brain, if I may – have all notes written and gifts wrapped the week of your wedding. Ashley was very prepared, and didn’t have to scramble on her wedding day to wrap James’ (super thoughtful) gift or write his note and was able to have more fun and be present with her friends and family as she got ready!
Okay PAUSE: I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you now that James has the best sense of humor and you should be prepared for more photos of him being funny/photogenic/goofy/super serious/not serious at all.
Nothing like an impromptu first look with Dad!
Some of my favorite shots from any wedding day are the ones of the bridal party hugging the bride and groom right after the ceremony. I don’t get to shoot this at every wedding, but when I do, I loooooove love love it.

Congrats to Ashley and James!! I am so grateful you picked me to be your wedding photographer. You guys were so much fun to work with and I’m glad we’re all in agreement that we’re now fast friends 🙂
Each wedding, we try to grab some BTS shots because they’re just fun. Here’s a few Kenton grabbed of me as I styled details early in the day.
For Photographers: my 50 mm is my BABE. The amount of photos I’ve taken with that lens is probably in the six digits by now – yikes. For details, I usually use my old reliable 50 because the aperture makes the photos so creamy, which I love, and I also recently invested in a 100 mm macro lens which has taken my ring shot game to a whole different level. It’s also a nifty lens for ceremony and first look moments when you need a little zoom. Also, if you struggle to find comfortable shoes for wedding days (this is like one of my most challenging issues) these tall, flat boots look nice and are super comfortable, so maybe give something like that a shot? Open to your suggestions too because our weary soles gotta stick together.
And as always, I have to include a pic of my second shooter hubby killin the game 🙂 Love you K!
