About Maya and Ed

Maya and Ed’s Barr Mansion Austin Wedding is a new favorite of mine! Their breezy wedding day in May was a floral filled dream. The nuptial celebrations began the day before their wedding ceremony, with just the three of us at the Austin courthouse (really, the four of us including their precious pup, Lulu)! Maya and Ed are very intentional people. They wanted to have a day all to themselves to celebrate their union, so we met up at the courthouse the day before the wedding for an intimate, meaningful marriage ceremony celebrating their new family. You’ll definitely want to see the photos from this day, because it was so dreamy.

It all began with gentle breezes that made the beds of wildflowers dance playfully all over the grounds of Barr Mansion. It was a lovely and leisurely morning for Maya and Ed, who enjoyed themselves by spending time with family and friends, laughing a lot. This was one of my favorite parts of their entire wedding day — the people. Maya and Ed were so thoughtful to soak up time with all of their guests, and likewise, it seemed that at every turn their friends and family were peeking through windows and around doors, hoping for a glance of the newlyweds to celebrate them.

If the rich relationships weren’t enough to make this day beautiful — which they certainly were — the details would have done the trick. Maya’s vision was for their wedding day to be a flower filled intimate garden party. She chose subtle shades of olive green with soft pops of blush and gold to create an etherial spring feel for their invitations and color scheme. Her bouquet by the ever creative and delightful Kaylie of Wild Heart Floral was truly a work of art sprung right from the lore of an English tea garden party. But the bouquet was not to be outdone by the dance floor installation. Whimsical and dreamlike, the dance floor was literally dripping with stalk and greenery, inviting guests to dance underneath a sky full of flowers.

Maya continued her ever present stream of others centered thoughtfulness by adding special elements and even surprises to the wedding day, all for others to enjoy. Ed is a huge fan of chess, so Maya surprised him with a life-size chess game for cocktail hour, among other fun yard games for guests to enjoy. As a special nod to her dad, she arranged for after-dinner chai and samosas, which are his favorites. But we really can’t go any further without mention of precious Lulu, the couple’s Frenchie full of personality. She was the dog of honor and a sweet touch to the day, replete with her flower collar and drinks fashioned in her honor.

The evening progressed with dinner, dancing, and guests spreading over the lawn to enjoy the sunset while lounging on plush couches and chairs.

Congrats to M+E!

I could really go on and on explaining the gorgeous and unique details of this day (hellooo, wildflower honey party favors anyone?) but at a certainly point, you just have to see it for yourself. So without further ado, please enjoy Maya and Ed’s Barr Mansion Austin wedding! Congrats you two (and Lulu)!
