This soft, romantic bridal session at the Grand Lady Austin wedding venue is one of my favorites ever. Audrey picked this beautiful venue because it is a perfect blend of historic charm and character, yet also modern class. Can I also say that is a great description of Audrey herself? Charming, full of character and class, plus she is literally one of the most delightful, kind, fun, lighthearted people I’ve ever met. And as you’ll witness as you scroll, so stunningly beautiful!

The Grand Lady Austin Bridal Session Details

Everything for her bridal session at the Grand Lady Austin came together so flawlessly, even despite a very heavy rain earlier in the day, and a soft drizzle all throughout the session. Christy at the Grand Lady was so accommodating and worked to help make the session perfect for Audrey, and sweet Audrey herself had the best attitude about the weather. I think it ended up really adding to the whimsical feel of her session, which I love so much. Sometimes with things you can’t control, the best thing you can do is just look for the unexpected beauties, and let those shine through. The rain forced us inside the venue for the first half of her session, and I’m so glad it did. So many times, all you need is a clean, white back ground and a window to really create some magic. So naturally, the soft white walls of the venue in one of the upper bedrooms became a shooting location of dreams! And once the rain softened a little, the perfect porch area was all we needed to really showcase Audrey’s beauty, and celebrate her season as a bride which was made all the more magical with a soft, glittering rain in the background.

As if this session could get any lovelier, to make things even more special, Audrey wanted to pay tribute to her mom by posing for a few portraits in what her mother’s wedding gown! This also included a beautiful headdress that was absolutely amazing. I love it when brides think of creative, unique ways to elevate their own experience as a bride and honor the women before them, and this was a really, really special idea!
