About Allison and John

Allison and John are so much fun!!! They are such a perfect pair, AND they have two golden retrievers, so you know we had that majorly in common! I remember when we met for their engagement session and thinking, “Oh these two are going to be so great to work with.” It was a HOT day in the middle of summer in Austin, Texas. We shot at the beautiful Laguna Gloria and they did not complain once, but instead just lived it up and had so much fun! Not only was that premonition so true that they’d be delightful to work with, but their wedding was so much more lovely than I even predicted. They had to majorly change things up the week of the wedding and they handled the challenge and stress with so much grace. That week we just kept repeating and believing that the wedding will be even better than originally planned, and their photos will show just how true that came to be!

Austin Country Club Wedding

This day was tasteful and filled with the softest, misty light all day. Not one drop of rain fell, even though the day before it poured and poured! Because Allison and John wanted to add personal touches to their day, their precious nephew was their ring bearer and — oh my goodness — that moment when John gives him a high five during the ceremony is truly one of my all time favorite ring bearer moments. They also added personality by having a BLAST of a reception with the fun, high energy dancing of all their friends, fueled by personalized cocktails (named after their dogs) and flower crowns.

Speaking of friends, their large bridal party was such a blast and reminded me so much of my college friends. Allison was a Pi Phi at Baylor University, and so was I! It was really fun and special to shoot their wedding and I texted all my Pi Phi girl friends about how much fun it was and how much it made me miss them! Another thing that cannot go unmentioned are the beautiful and unique bride and groom portraits in front of the 360 bridge in Austin. Just so cool! The mist made those moments even more romantic.
