This Enchanted Rock engagement session with Alana and Kenneth is more than I can handle! All the muted earthy tones + their soft smiles are seriously all I could ask for. Alana and Kenneth dated for about a year before getting engaged, but they knew pretty quick that marriage was in their near future. They’re both engineers, they’re both very kind people, and they are both really excited for their intimate spring wedding with family and a few friends. When Alana described her vision for their wedding day, it sounded so perfect for them. I was so excited and honored when Alana reached out to me, because I actually already knew her! I shot her sister’s wedding (Jessica + Ron) last year, and shooting sibling weddings is seriously my favorite thing!! Alana and Jessica’s family made me feel so special and included on Jessica’s wedding day, so to get to spend time with them again for Alana and Kenneth’s wedding is literally a dream for me! I love my EBP couples so much that their family feels like family to me by the end of each wedding day, not to mention how much I adore each of my couples themselves!

When Alana told me she and Kenneth had picked Enchanted Rock  for their engagement session, I was PUMPED. I have had this hill country legacy on my dream “to-shoot” list forever. What I didn’t know is how stinking PERFECT this location would be for them! What the Rocky Mountain National Park is for me and my family, Enchanted Rock is for Alana and her family. They have gone there EVERY year for basically forever. It is a very special place for her. Probably kind of sacred even! They’r even going to hike it the day before their wedding with their family and guests! So this made shooting their engagements there even more special.

If you’re not down for a little adventure, then Enchanted Rock is not the location for you, but as it turns out Alana and Kenneth are all ABOUT adventure and being outside, so this couldn’t have been better for them. They decided to tuck their outfits in a pack and change on the trail, which enabled us to make the most of the location and the insanely gorgeous views. I didn’t know I could feel so happy with my camera and some lenses stuffed in a summit pack! With a handful of on the go trail mix and my Nalgene in tow, I followed Alana and Kenneth up Alana’s favorite trail and we chatted like old friends (Alana and Kenneth are that easy-going type who instantly make you feel confident and comfortable around them). It is no surprise to me that Alana is a fantastic guide and we located the prettiest scenes for their photos, not to mention the sun popping out of the clouds always at the exact right moments.

EEEK I just love this couple and this session and I seriously cannot WAIT for their spring wedding in just a few weeks!!
