Fun, Austin Coded Engagement Session

Taylor and Conor wanted a fun, Austin coded engagement session because that would really feel like them, and honestly, that’s the best kind of direction. Since Conor grew up in Austin, they leaned into the places that feel most like home—and that meant hopping around to a few of their favorite local spots.

We started at Red Bud Isle. If you’ve ever been, you know—it’s one of those places that makes you forget you’re still in the city. With the dogs running around and the water catching the light, it felt natural, calm, and so authentically Austin. It’s no wonder this is one of their go-to spots for walks. The whole place has a way of slowing things down, which made for some of the most genuine moments of the day. We even got lucky and got a few little rain drops while we strolled about the park.

From there, we traded fresh air and lake views for burgers and fries at Pool Burger, a place that’s pretty much the definition of Austin cool. Colorful, totally retro, and always buzzing with energy, it’s the kind of spot that feels frozen in time in the best way. Old Austin feels. Between the tiki cocktails, neon signs, and surf-shack vibe, it’s impossible not to feel like you’re just hanging out with friends rather than taking photos. That easygoing energy made every shot feel effortless, like a snapshot from a weekend afternoon.

What I loved most about this session was how much it reflected Taylor and Conor as a couple. No contriving, no overly polished setups—just two people choosing to celebrate in the places that feel like theirs. That’s what makes photos timeless.

And the best part? This is only the beginning! Their wedding is coming up at Addison Grove, one of my favorite venues in the Austin area, and I already know it’s going to be an incredible day. I can’t wait to celebrate alongside them and capture the next chapter!
