Austin Sailboat Engagement Session

It was a normal weekday when I opened my email and saw a note from Mallory: “I think we want to do our engagement session on a sailboat on Lake Travis!” Then began my countdown to this Austin sailboat engagement session! This was a bucket list for me. I’ve always thought it would be so dreamy to take to the waves for a session with one of my couples, and Mallory and Colton were the perfect match for this idea! We met on the pier and walked down the dock towards the sailboat and already my mind was buzzing with ideas just hearing the water lapping against the shore and seeing the sails towering in the air above me. What is so fun about sessions like this is that they become more than a photo session. It’s an experience. Mallory’s family went with us and behind the scenes of every image is her parents and sister enjoying happy hour with our captain – how cute is that?!

These two were so easy going during their session, even with the breeze and the movements of the boat. It was my first time on a sailboat so I was extra cautious to always be holding onto something! But I would do this over and over again. Mallory and Colton made it all look so easy. That’s how they are together – just easy! Which is exactly how it felt to wrap their session with a quick dip in the cool waters of Lake Travis to cool off. Mallory and Colton are dreamboats themselves. They have known each other since high school – can you believe that?! Since then it has been sweet journey to get to this point of engagement and they are both so excited about their wedding at Villa Antonia next April. I can’t wait! No doubt, as after this session with them, their wedding day will leave me sailing on cloud nine, too.
