French Inspired Pastel Wedding at Historic Texas Venue in Small Town Texas

Austin Wedding Photographer

I have been so excited to share this wedding on my blog! There are so many little details about this day that stick out so vividly in my memory. It was all suchhhh a dream. On days like this I pinch myself to be an Austin wedding photographer, but add in a historic venue in small town Texas decked out in the most delightfully pastel French inspired details and I’m on cloud nine.

Here’s the first amazing detail: Madison, planned all of this herself! Which is very impressive because her vision is so consistent and as you’ll witness in a moment, completely stunning. Madison wanted their wedding to feel very French garden inspired and she used all shades of pastel to treat guests to a romantic, colorful experience when they walked into the ceremony space. She picked a historic wedding venue in a small town in Texas that truly transported us to another time in another place, but we were just outside College Station! To add a little glitter, it even lightly rained all day which made the day feel even more soft and whimsical, not to mention that made the prolific candle lighting all over the venue feel even more dreamy! Bobbi with Unforgettable Floral created absolutely beautiful works of art on the pastel florals (that were everywhere!) and need I mention the perfect ceremony install?

Other pastel touches included the depression glass cake stands and desert trays that Madison curated from her collection as well as some that she borrowed from friends and family! That has to be one of my favorite thoughtful details. When Madison told me about those special pieces I knew I wanted to feature them in some of her detail photos as a surprise and I just love how those turned out. And for all the lovers of a little drama out there, Madison had not one but two wedding dresses, both purchased from the same boutique in Florida. The first dress is very romantic and full of gorgeous lace details which really fit their nostalgic old world French theme. Her reception dress had a more modern flair with had a very flattering high neck with just a touch of glimmer. Madison even used two different pairs of shoes for her wedding day looks, one from Bella Belle and another by Sam Edelman (these were her something blue)!

The best part of this day is that for all the effort Madison put into planning and prep, she and Joe were so grounded, calm, and exuberant all day long. Watching them be completely in the moment during each part of the day was such a joy for me. They were just so grateful and thrilled to finally be married and that joy permeates through their images. They were so deserving of this whimsical celebration and it was such a joy to to document every luscious, color filled moment!
