A Rustic Winter Wedding with Modern and Mauve Undertones

Rustic charm meets a soft modern mauve in this winter wedding at The Gin at Hidalgo Falls. When planning their big day, Mara and Dalton wanted to tie their southern roots to the twenty first century, and the Gin provide the perfect slate for their vision. The industrial touches of the old cotton gin pair so romantically with the soft mauve Azazie bridesmaid dresses, and that braid in Mara’s hair adds just enough of a boho vibe for this day to have a touch of youthful charm. From Mara’s Maggie Sottero ball gown to her lush bouquet by Tamara Menges to her soft, romantic hair and make up, the bridal look from this day is certainly pin-worthy.

But beauty wasn’t just skin deep on this day. Mara’s delightful, playful, fun personality perforated every inch of this day. She and Dalton are high school sweet hearts (can you believe it?!) who hail from Dripping Springs, Texas. We bonded over that and our mutual love for our dogs (they have a handful as well). They were so thrilled to finally be married, and I’ll never forget how sweet their softly windblown ceremony was. There are also some very special one of a kind touches to this day. The ring pillow used in the detail shots was the same one Mara’s parents used in their wedding. And… that groom’s cake! I have never seen such an intricate, unique and wildly creative groom’s cake! Fabulous Fare truly outdid themselves and paid incredible homage to Dalton’s passions with that amazing groom’s cake.

They day ended under bulb lights and the prettiest pastel pink sunset that only a winter night in the country could provide. Congrats Mara and Dalton! You two are bright lights and it was so special to celebrate with you on your wedding day!
