While this was not Manali and James’ initial idea for their wedding, there could not be imagined a more beautiful or heartfelt day for their marriage to begin. The air was warm and sweet beneath Camp Lucy’s heritage oaks which provided the perfect setting for multiple meaningful moments for Manali and James and their families. While guests enjoyed classical guitar before the ceremony, Manali added finishing touches to her Jenny Yoo gown, including some gorgeous dancing-friendly Manolo Bhlanik block heels.

The day was relaxed and intentional, rich with recounted stories of family legacies and special dances under a summer sunset. Between the soft whisper blue florals, bridesmaid dresses, and Manali’s ever present joy, this wedding is permanently etched into my memory as a new favorite. Despite their first plan needing to change due to the pandemic, they made more than the best of things and created a wedding day that I’d recommend to anyone. Lessening the span and guest count, though certainly still a loss, in the end did not diminish the quality of the day but perhaps, in some ways, seemed to magnify it.

To Manali and James and each of your families, thank you for inviting me to celebrate this perfect day with you all. It was beyond a joy and an honor and I’m thrilled to re-live it in today’s blog post!
