I recently had the opportunity to photograph a rehearsal dinner for a couple who actually isn’t an EBP wedding couple, though they are quite dear to me now! I offer rehearsal dinner coverage to all of my couples as an a la carte option, and I’m always so excited when they decide they want me there, because I really love rehearsal dinners! So when I got a note from the Connett family that they needed someone to document their rehearsal dinner at the Dunlavy in Houston, I was thrilled!

Growing up, I would always day dream about my own rehearsal dinner, maybe even more than my wedding. I just love the intimacy. The candlelight. The sparkly drinks in shiny glasses. The love, laughter, and affirmation. The anticipation of the day ahead and all of the excitement shared by friends who are wearing fancy dresses and who greet each other with warm, welcoming hugs. I just think they’re really magical!

Documenting such special evenings is always a treat for me, especially as a creative. Telling the story of an elegant evening, lavish with delicate drinks and delicious food, from the perspective of how the evening felt is always a really fun task. And this night felt like a glowing tribute to the affection of friends and family for two special people, and the warm enjoyment of a really lovely evening shared by all. I’m very grateful that I got to be part of it, and I’m very excited to share it on the blog today!
