I am over the moon to share this beautiful petal pink and dusty blue wedding at Balmorhea Events in Magnolia! I just love Stephanie and Rylan!!! This whole day was just so glowy and perfect. From Stephanie’s insanely pretty color scheme to all the priceless candid moments all day long, my heart is so full from taking in all these photos as I put this blog post together!

If you had to ask me to call to mind a wedding day that was packed full of unique, sweet moments, I’d probably tell you all about this one! Each wedding has priceless moments, but on this wedding day it seemed like everywhere I turned was a moment I was beyond grateful to capture! First of all, the day began with Stephanie’s *literally perfect* pink and blue details, which are always really special for me to photograph for my brides. Then the moments just kept rolling on when Stephanie got dressed. That window with Stephanie’s sweet smile and happy sister moments really got to me. She and Kelly are the cutest sisters! I’m just floored by all the sister moments I got to capture on this day! Another precious moment was Stephanie’s first look with her dad (that had all of her bridesmaids in tears). Stephanie decided to hide behind a wall of her best buddies when her dad came in to see her. The reaction was priceless!! And then everyone was in tears when he saw her. And speaking of tears, Stephanie and Rylan’s first look was definitely a time when you wanted a hanky nearby! His face KILLS ME!

Stephanie and Rylan’s ceremony was gorgeous. All of the details came together so beautifully, and when Stephanie came down the aisle there wasn’t a dry eye in the place, including Stephanie’s bridesmaids who, again, were just losing it and it was so precious! Stephanie even heard them trying to hold it together several times during the ceremony and would turn around and laugh with them. That was the SWEETEST! Stephanie is just so great. She’s so dear to me. She is so centered and thoughtful. All day long she was so present and peace-filled, which made the joy in her heart really shine through! Their photos walking out of the ceremony during their rose-petal toss are some of the most joyful of her all day. Both she and Rylan have the biggest smiles in those photos and it makes me SO HAPPY. Speaking of smiles, their bride and groom portraits…MMM! I can’t get enough of those two, their love for each other, and that perfect golden hour we got! Stephanie really wanted a veil shot and I’m giddyyyy to share what we were able to achieve for them to remember forever!

Something also really special about this day was all the sweet family moments I got to witness. Like the connection Rylan has with his niece who was a flower girl. There are a couple of photos of those two that seriously melt my heart. And like I mentioned before, Stephanie and Kelly have the coolest sister bond. Being a big fan of my own sister, I really loved getting to capture so many happy moments between the two of them like Stephanie putting her dress on and the first look with their dad! But I think one of my all time favorite sister photos ever is the one I got of Stephanie and Kelly during bridesmaid photos! You’ll know it when you see it. The wind is blowing and they’re just looking at each other and giggling and it makes me so happy!!! But I also love how Stephanie and Rylan wanted to honor their grandparents on their wedding day, those who are here and who aren’t. There was a beautiful memorial table set up at the reception to honor loved ones who couldn’t be there to celebrate, and Stephanie arranged for a special song to play at the reception for her grandmother who just passed recently. When that song came one Stephanie just kind of broke down, which was actually beautiful. I really related to that. I still cry when I think about my Mimo and Gdad, and to see Stephanie honor her grandmother at her reception with a special dance was really beautiful. But it also turned into a really precious, priceless series of photos with Stephanie and her family, who were all crying together. I really love those photos and they make me teary eyed myself.

Oh goodness I can truly gush about this day and this couple. I’m just so full remembering it all. I’m so grateful for you, Stephanie and Rylan! Your day was such a blessing for me to get to be a part of. I just love you two and what you value. Y’all care about people and that is so evident. And you care about each other, and that’s pretty evident, too! (I mean, heyoooo, those portraits!) Okay I really need to wrap this up so you guys can enjoy the photos and let them speak for themselves a little! Stephanie and Rylan, congrats to you two! Welcome to marriage!! It’s the BEST!

XO, Emily

  1. […] She and Rylan got married at Balmorea Events back in September, and it was the HAPPIEST day ever! They did a rose petal exit from their reception which was a first for me and soooo pretty. It was such a fun, easy, unique way to add a little more special to their wedding day. And the rose petals were the same color as Stephanie’s beautiful blush dress, soooooo that about made my heart explode. It’s so fun to write this bridal blog post now that I’ve shot their wedding, because, of course, during the session we talked all about the wedding day and how excited we were, and now they’re married! Bridal sessions are just special like that. They’re such a celebration of what’s been and what’s to come, and they’re the perfect way to put a really lovely end mark on the season of life before marriage. […]
