This Zilker Park engagement session has my heart all fluttery! This was my FIRST session in Austin since our big move to Dripping Springs, and it felt so beautifully fitting to get to shoot at Zilker since it’s my old high school stomping ground! I have so many memories in this big park in the middle of Austin: summer days at Barton Springs, morning runs around Town Lake with my family’s lab Spoon (yes, we named her Spoon and called her Spoonie!), and all the days after school when a Sno Beach snow cone was absolutely mandatory. I feel so grateful to add this to my memories too: this beautiful engagement session with Henry and Kaci!!

Kaci and Henry, by the way, are just dear. I wouldn’t describe everyone I meet as dear. It’s a special word reserved for only truly kind people, people whose care for you goes past obligatory conversations to a part of their heart where they really truly want to be kind to you. Kaci and Henry are those people! They’re soft. Does that make sense? Maybe that sounds weird, but they’re just soft to be around. You feel comfortable and happy and easy around them. There’s no effort required to spend time with them – it’s just a soft, lovely encounter. So, naturally, due to how completely wonderful this couple is, their session was a dream! The beautiful, lush setting of this location perfectly suits their relationship, too! And we were not only blessed with lush greens but also really pretty soft light, even though this was shot in summer time!

This session and this couple just have me feeling so happy today. I can’t WAIT for their November wedding at Moore Ranch, either! Just a few more months and then we get to really party! Woohoo!
