Okay, so basically, this is just a blog post full of organic, whimsy, joyful, free, happy, lovely, light, warm, dreamy, whispy, wind, field, golden, vintage, film, neutrals, dainty, simple, soft, romantic FEELSSS. I mean, it’s not everyday that you get to create pretty just for the sake of… well, pretty!! So if you’d like to get lost in a warm summer evening that feels like 1950, then keep reading!

When Bobbi at Unforgettable Floral threw out the idea of doing a styled shoot together I 1) knew instantly how I wanted to shoot it and, 2) knew that we’d work great together. I’m still so giddy with this! I’ve wanted to do a fine art, vintage inspired shoot like this for a long time, and it’s finally heeeere! And this is like the BEST vendor team EVER!! We were all just really excited to create something that we genuinely liked, made us feel all the happy things, and something we really hoped would inspire and encourage brides to think up all the dreamy things for her wedding day! So if you’re a bride reading this, YAY! You’ve come to the right place for some dreamy, joyful, and organic happies. This shoot has all the things for you to really dream big: delicate details, an ornate floral ceremony set up, a super sweet sweet-heart table and cake table, a grand reception hall with a big bad farm table with alllll the vintage fixins’, a cocktail lounge (so precious), and of course, sunset portraits (always what I look forward to). I’m hoping this will give you lots of fun, art-directed ideas for your day! And if you’re not yet a bride but still dreaming of the day – good for you girl, this for you too! We started dreaming up the shoot by talking about feeling words (really, I did lots of talking about words – I’m a word girl and they really help me direct my eye as I shoot) and colors – colors are big. Things got exciting when I spotted every day-dreamer’s *dream* blush colored Hailey Paige dress (I mean, I’d wear this dress every day if it were appropriate) and cathedral veil at Coreena’s Bridal. And soon things blossomed into a day truly set in the 1950’s, replete with vintage shabby chic plates, a lounge area that came straight out of a movie, a retired cotton gin turned antique chic wedding venue (I just love you guys, Gin at Hidalgo Falls!), handmade fine art invitations and lettering from the AMAZING Davis Art Co. (love you Amanda), and a sunset portrait escapade in the wind with my precious model friends Kylie and Tyler! From start to finish this styled shoot was just happy. This really was just for joy – to create something beautiful and inspiring with a really great team of local friendors.
